5 months have passed now since I've been up here in the mountains of Baguio City, the Summer Capital of the Philippines. I've been undergoing my Internship program with Texas Instruments, Philippines, a Semiconductor Industry situated up in the chilly highlands. I learned hell of a great experience~!
Ever tried pouring ice cold water on your head? It makes your head go numb, right? Now, imagine doing that everyday for 6 days a week! Haha! We lived up here with no heater on our showers, just pure ice cold tap water from the faucet and it's reaaaaaally c-c-c-colddd~! O___O
(Well, eventually we got tired of doing it all the time as if we were trying to live the Spartan life, sheeeesh! We could boil water, can't we?!? Well, that's what we did eventually...except for the times when we were going to be late for work. O__O)
Trying to live independently...yeah right. XD
Trying to live away from home so you won't have to depend on your parents?...but cling on to your housemates hahaha! XD ...Is that what you call trying to live independently? hahaha...for someone like me who doesn't know much about cooking, I don't think I'd be able to survive a week in this place. O___Olll...thank goodness, we got someone who could cook...O___Olll...
We learned a few important things:
1.) The money you earn from working is very hard to spend...very true O___O...(Now imagine your parents working and you just take their hard-earned money for school stuff, or going out?)
2.)And if you ever spend that money, you'd spend so much you'll never notice that you've spent all of it!...and end up broke...O____Olll...watch where your money goes...learned that the hard way...O___Olll
3.)A house with no radio, no tv, no pc, or any kind of entertainment where sounds and pictures come out from...and you'll find yourself in a place of peace and silence and a state of Zen....mmmmmmm~...literally QUIET and add that to the cold surroundings...at first, it's nerve-wrecking...but when you get used to it, it's one of the best ways to relax and be close with nature...then you'll learn to appreciate the birds, the clouds, the trees, the mountain, the rain and the flapping of the window curtains, the movement of the sun...you can also count shooting stars! discover constellations! draw images from the clouds! then you will realize, you can always find entertainment wherever you are...you just have to use your senses...and voila~! The sky is your lifesize plasma screen! In full color detail! And you don't get charged of any cable fee or electric bills! sweet!
4.) Work becomes a burden when you find it hard to appreciate it. Work becomes a pastime when you find ways for it to be fun.

...there's a saying "If you love your job, you will never work a second in your life"...so I say, find something you like doing and you will be surprised that you're getting paid for doing what you love.

I received a message on my phone that said:
"If you love it, you will always love it;
If you hate it, maybe you will learn to appreciate it
but never will it be a part of your soul." - Pretty Woman
(dunno what Pretty Woman was, maybe it was taken from a movie with that title...hmmmm..O__O)
5.) Find yourself a goal. Regardless of how simple it is, as long as you've got something to look forward to. May it be a short-term goal or a Long-term Bigtime goal, just have one. I always looked forward to buying myself something new, like a pair of jeans, some nice pair of sneakers or treat myself to a BigMac burger or just buy some chocolate crinkles! That way, you will be filled with enthusiasm and look forward to realizing that goal. And when you finally get it, it will feel really great! like "yeah, I will be finally able to eat some chocolate crinkles today!" or "These pair of jeans were really meant for me. I knew it!" haha! kidding!

Soul Searching...? dunno.. i just liked the phrase to be part of the title hahaha! But in a way, yeah, I did have time to think about some things. With no tv, radio, pc or any kind of entertainment that would sway your attention from thinking about yourself, the future (maybe?). You'll realize there is more to life than to surf the net, watch tv, listen to music and stuff. You can also think of what you can become in the future, what you can do to realize your goals, to set a goal in life. Stuff like that.
I missed this a lot! When I had free time here, I made sketches of Deathnote and Air Gear (Agito is my fave!)
I hope I could share the drawings I made here in the mountains ASAP! Can't wait to go back to the city and upload them!
